This was a very busy week in my work room, with the approaching mailing deadlines for two projects. The one that’s finished and ready to go out tomorrow is the set of four tip-ins for the SUMMER swap I’m hosting on Art Forty-Two. This is the second of four seasonally themed swaps that will eventually create a complete book of seasons. Although the swap is 3 for 3, I opted to make an extra to keep for myself, which worked out pretty perfectly, since three other people managed to get their work to me by the swap deadline. This was the ideal project to work on this week, because it’s been in the 90s and really humid here. My work room is on the south side of the house, so there’s lots of sweating and very little clothing going on in there right now.

The project that isn’t quite ready to mail out tomorrow is my book for the BYOB round robin. I have the book made, the sign in and rules page done, and one layout finished. I really want to do a second layout, but I’m not sure I can get it done this evening. On the plus side, I’m mailing to Livia for the duration of this project—and since she lives across town, it takes just one day for things to get to her. I might be able to squeak out an extra day of work tomorrow, and get the book into the mail in the evening without feeling too guilty. I have the pages prepped, and a very pretty paper I want to use, but so far, the idea for the pages hasn’t gelled. Any minute now…

Yesterday I went to a meeting of my local mixed media group, at The Paper Planet, a local store filled with papery goodness. The store specializes in handmade invitations, and is always stocked with the most delicious papers. I usually come away with three or four 24×36 inch sheets of printed papers. Although the group usually makes things at our meetings, I usually sit out the projects, because it’s my day off, and the last thing I want to do is make stuff! I usually just sit and chat with the other ladies, and enjoy not working.

So, that’s it for the week. More tip-ins from previous projects can be found here. My work from the BYOB round robin is being posted here. I’ll probably have new work from that project next week…
