One of the big projects I started in 2003 is a collaborative library with 40 or so other artists. Each of us originally chose a famous woman from a list of choices that was pre-prepared. At some point, we broke away from that list, and started adding women and groups of women to our project. I stayed with my original choice—Sappho. I’d never read her poetry before, and by the time the option was open to change women, I was hooked. Each artist is doing an entire book dedicated to her icon, and the project due date is at the end of August, 2003. Unfortunately, this project was derailed before it was completed. Although the group is no longer working toward completing a collaborative library, I hope to continue working on this book on my own off and on.
